James Bell, Author

james-bell-headshot_med_hr

Founder of Solid State Inspections and Author of 7 Home Inspection Books and published in numerous magazines and newspapers.

James Bell, Founder of Solid State Home Inspections, holds a Degree in Entrepreneurial Management from Royal Roads University and spent nearly two decades creating product lines and marketing goods and services from the head offices of Radio Shack, Best Buy, and Future Shop.

Wanting to make a name for himself as an entrepreneur and seeing an opportunity to improve the client experience in the home inspection industry, James Bell started Honesty and Integrity Investigations in 2009 and in 2012 re-branded and launched as Solid State Home Inspections. James is a Registered Home Inspector (AHI) which is the highest level of membership with the Home Inspectors Association (BC).

In his first book, Home Inspection Lessons, James shares his expertise in marketing and branding as he successfully translated his retail experience to the home inspection industry. He also shares nearly 100 other lessons he learned as a home inspector that every other home inspector needs to know.

In his second book, A Home Inspectors Guide to Kitchens, James presents how to advice for Home Inspectors as they use their skills in inspecting home kitchens.

In his third book, A Home Inspectors Guide to Bathrooms, James continues looking room-by-room with home inspectors on what and how home inspectors need to inspect and report on when in the bathroom.

His fourth book, A Home Inspectors Guide to Bedrooms, James turns the lens onto what home inspectors need to look at in bedrooms.

His fifth book, A Home Inspectors Guide to Interiors, James finishes looking at the major internal rooms of the home including laundry rooms, hallways, living rooms, staircases, and other general spaces.

His sixth book, Home Owner’s Manual: For Condo’s and Townhouses, is James’ first book written directly for his clients. Solid State has always provided clients with a ‘Home Owner’s Manual’ but this updated book was written specifically for Condo and Townhouse buyers and the strata complications they need to know about. This book is free with condo and townhouse inspections and is a FREE download from the iBooks store. This book was not made available on Amazon or Kobo as they did not allow a free pricing policy.

His seventh book, Home Owner’s Manual: For House Buyers, is James’ second book written directly for his clients. Solid State has always provided clients with a ‘Home Owner’s Manual’ but this updated book was written specifically for house buyers and the complications they need to know about. This book is free with house inspections and is a FREE download from the iBooks store. This book was not made available on Amazon or Kobo as they did not allow a free pricing policy.

What Other Home Inspection Experts are saying about James' Writing:

A very thorough article as usual James. It shows the hidden details that home inspectors perform, most of which will not be published in the home inspection report unless there is an issue.
